those distinctions are what make the game different from the generic RTS. So, I don't care if UEF's tier 3 Gunships can rape everyone ass, I don't care if Aeon's navy is superior, I don't care if Cybran's defense is almost perfect. What draw me into Supcom in the beginning is because it is the spiritual successor of Total Annhilation, which it was in the beginning, but now it's dying out.
Sorry for the rant here, but Supcom for me is a perfect example of how the hardcore element and those that envisioned by the creators is overcome by the cry of mass casual player. I don't know about this, but chance is I probably skip it since right now I pretty much give up on the support for this game, it has become 'too good'. anyway, the absolute first thing I'm doing when I get supcom and my new comp is to hook it up to my 50' HD flatscreen and play some really, long, battles. anyway, I have some flexability in my price, so if you have any recommendations they sure would be welcome !!! I think I can push to +/- 150$, maybe even 200$. SupCom is a beast on even the modern day machines.the requirements are quite steep, mainly concerning the processor and RAM, and a good video card helps a lot, but you'll find that most people end up playing 80% of their games in strategic zoom mode what do you think? this rig comes out to just under a grand (which is because it depreciated over the past 1/2 year).
